First there was THE OVERTONES -- Matt, Dan, Doug, Tom. Then there was RACCOON -- Toby, Scott, Rory, Andrew. There was also FLUX CAPACITOR with Jamie, Roger, Denny and Mark. Tom left THE OVERTONES and Toby joined them, while still playing with RACCOON. Then THE OVERTONES changed their name to DOUBLEHORSE!During this time, Toby, Scott, Doug and Ted formed DR. DOG. FLUX CAPACITOR broke up and former members Jamie and Roger formed BEARD with Doug and Toby and Scott. Around the sametime, Doug, Matt, Dan, Tom, Toby, Scott, J. C., Mike, Paul and Tim started playing bluegrass as THE CONOWINGO HOMEBOYS. Ted left DR. DOG and Zach joined DR. DOG. Toby left DOUBLEHORSE! and Tom re-joined. BEARD broke up. RACCOON broke up. MOTOR was formed out of the ashes of BEARD and FLUX CAPACITOR, featuring Jamie, Roger, Sarah and Matt, and Doug left DR. DOG; Tim from THE CONOWINGO HOMEBOYS joined DOUBLEHORSE! SAFULA also joined DOUBLEHORSE! Now there is DOUBLEHORSE!, DR. DOG, MOTOR and THE CONOWINGO HOMEBOYS. MOTOR doesn't play much anymore, though. There is no more RACCOON, BEARD or FLUX CAPACITOR. MOTOR and DOUBLEHORSE! were working on an album together but it might not ever come out. A BEARD retrospective CD is in the works. Everybody is still friends. We all love each other.
